Geolocation Update Procedures

These procedures applies in case that the ST Application informs that the Geolocation option is not activated.

The first thing to do will be to close the ST application and delete cache. To do this, go to: Settings >Applications, select ST App and then Delete Cache.

Once this step is complete, enable the GeoLocation feature. To do so, go to Settings>Location Services. Once there, enable the options shown in the menu (this depends on the Android Version of the device in use):

After these steps are completed, open the ST app again to use it. In the case that the same error pops up, please, repeat the steps mentioned above. When reopening the application, make sure that the application is closed, so that the Tablet will have GPS reception.

As a quick tip for checking if Location Services is working, open Google Maps and verify that the the location provided is the one you are at. If that is not the case, then there is a hardware issue on the tablet and you need to troubleshoot it and possibly replace it.

Make sure that when opening the ST App you select YES on the authorization request section to access to the tablet’s camera and its photos.

This issue is reproduced when:

1) Being in a closed room with no GPS location available.

2) When not giving the app permission on the initial prompt.

If the above procedure does not solve the issue (when trying to log in from an OPEN SPACE), please provide the following information:

  • Amount of agents affected
  • Usernames
  • Devices brands and Models
  • Android Version

And answer the following questions:

  • Does geolocation work well in google maps?
  • Is geolocation ON?
  • Is it ON in high accuracy mode? (or 3 options enabled in older versions)
