ILS Validation

The independent living systems (ILS) validation process will allow the applicant to validate their personal information without the need to submit documentation to Safelink. This means that applicants will get enrolled to the Safelink service without submitting qualification proofs.

Procedure

During the enrollment creation, ST agents may come along with this new validation process, which will allow to get Qualified applications in a shorter period of time. All in all, for the validation process to take place, ST agents will have to introduce the applicants’ complete SSN into the ST application.

This validation will only be available for States without Mandatory State agencies. If this is the case, the section to provide the SSN for the ILS validation will be displayed after selecting the Applicant’s Eligibility:

A Full SSN box will become available to introduce the applicant’s complete SSN in the Medicaid Validation section. ST agents must explain that this is an optional procedure, applicants can refuse to provide this information and continue with the enrollment creation by pressing the SKIP button:

On the other hand, if applicants provide their SSN, ST agents have to introduce it in the application and then click on SUBMIT.

Note: This option will also be available for dependents:

The validation process will not take place immediately. Some things have to be taken into consideration:

  • Besides the Qualification proof, the rest of the documentation required for the enrollment approval must be already uploaded and approved. If there is any proof pending submission (SSN, DOB, HHW, etc.), the ILS validation will not take place. Only the Program proof should be in Required status.

  • ILS validation process is not immediate. If after the enrollment is created there is no qualification proof uploaded in the next 20 minutes, the ILS Validation will run.

  • This validation will run only if all documents required (except for qualification proof) have been uploaded. It is recommended that all ST agents upload proofs whenever possible.

    • If the ILS validation fails, the system will wait for valid proof to be uploaded in order to qualify the enrollment.
