GOOD PRACTICE TIP!

Always ask the applicant what government program they are receiving and if they have proof to submit and check it before the enrollment creation.

The most popular programs are FoodStamps, Medicaid, and SSI, so a good prequalifying question would be enough if the applicant receives any of them.

Most of the processes delays and rejections are caused by misspellings and customer’s information mismatch. Requesting the documents that will be submitted as proof in advance will help you avoid most of these unnecessary delays.

If the applicant selects Section 8 as the qualifying program, a new window will become available, where the applicant will have to indicate which subprogram applies. Once selected, the CONFIRM button should be pressed.

Income Eligibility

If the income option is selected, Street Team Agents will have to ask applicants the Number of people living in the Household, and sometimes the number of Kids (under 18).

In the next step, ST agents will be requested to indicate if the applicant's annual income exceeds the amount provided on screen or not.

To do so, they will be presented with two different options to select from.

In the state of California, Street Team Agents will have to request the Applicant's Household income according to the Time period (yearly or monthly) that they will also have to select.

On the top box, ST agents have to introduce the household income and then select the period in the dropdown menu provided below:

If the applicant does not exceed the maximum income allowed, they will be able to continue with the enrollment process, and the following message will be displayed:

On the other hand, if the maximum income allowed is exceeded, the following message will be displayed, where the applicant can try to APPLY VIA PROGRAM and another button for the ST agent to access the HOME section of the Quest app.

By pressing the Show Income Table button, the Quest app will display the list with the Maximum Income Level Accepted for Lifeline according to the Number of Person(s) in the Household.

If the applicant has issues calculating their annual household income, they can click on the Use calculator button to determine if they exceed the maximum income allowed to apply for the benefit. ST agents will have to introduce the Applicant's household income using numbers on the top, and introducing the Time period (monthly or yearly) from the dropdown menu below.
