NLAD definition
The National Verifier (NV) is Lifeline's centralized application system. It determines whether consumers are eligible for Lifeline. Consumers may also apply to the Lifeline program on their own through the NV consumer portal, or by mail.
Note: NLAD is active in all most states, except for Texas and California.
In regards to NLAD, the process is rather transparent. Once applicants' introduce information in the enrollment and submit it, that information is sent automatically for review through NLAD. If the information matches, the verification process will be successful. If not, the system will inform about the need to process an escalation due to not being able to validate the applicant's PII (full name, DOB, SSN, address).
