Dependent escalation
All dependents’ personal information needs to be validated against Public Records while creating an enrollment.
If there is a validation issue after pressing the Submit button, dependents will have to present SSN and DOB proofs.
Whenever this happens, agents will have to instruct applicants that in order for the account to get approved, dependent’s proofs will have to be provided.
But the process is not always the same. Basically, there are two different procedures that apply:
- If the dependent is 18 years or older, the personal information will be validated against Lexis Nexis (which carries out the customer’s PII validation from our side):
- If the dependent’s information is found in Lexis Nexis, that person will not need to submit proofs.
- If, on the other hand, the personal information is not found in Lexis Nexis, the dependent will have to submit valid DOB and SSN proofs for the account to get approved.
- If the dependent is underage, Lexis Nexis will not validate the dependent’s information, because, most probably, it will not be listed there. This means that if the dependent is a minor, proofs of SSN and DOB will always have to be provided.
Along with these new implementations, a Cross Duplicity Check will also be added. This means that whenever a new account is created, the system will verify that the applicant’s information is not listed in another application as an Applicant or a Dependent. The same will happen with dependents: their information will be matched against the other ID’s. If their information is already found in an active enrollment, that person will not be able to create another one.
